I Turned 21 - New Year Resolutions

Hi guys! I recently turned 21 and for my birthday, my boyfriend took me on a surprise trip to Malaga for a long weekend! It was such a special thing for him to do and I couldn't thank him enough! I'm also so impressed that he managed to keep it a secret!

Whilst we were away it gave me a few days to relax and think about things. It allowed me to look back on all of the positive memories I had from the past few years and also got me thinking about what was to come. That's when I decided that since my January new year resolutions didn't really work out too well, that I would make my own new year of my life resolutions. Hopefully these ones will go a bit better!

I sat down and thought about all of the things I wanted to do and achieve this year of my life before I'm 22. First things first is that I really really wanted to start posting on my blog frequently! I wanted a space to record how well I'm doing with my goals and I wanted to make note of all of my favourite things from this year, whether that be memories I make, trips I go on, adventures I have or things I've bought and loved!

Another thing I really want to do is one of the most important things which is to love and treat my self better. This one includes a few things. Firstly, I want to lose some weight and really get my body to be the best shape it can be as it's the only one I have and I need to take better care of it! So with exercise, eating right and drinking plenty of water, that's what I intend to do! I also want to take really good care of my skin so I'm totally revamping my skin care routine with all new products. One really important thing about setting myself these goals is to make sure that I reward myself regularly to encourage me to stick at them, so I've decided that I'm going to make mini goals every so often, such as if I go to the gym so many times in a week and ensure that every time I go, I work as hard as possible or even if I drink enough water every day for a week (something that I'm particularly bad at), then I will treat myself with luxury beauty items and eventually when I get myself to the shape that makes me happy, then I can treat myself with new clothes! Hopefully with this and the results of sticking with it, I will stay motivated.

Something else that I am determined to finally do, is to learn how to drive!! I have taken a few lessons but driving is something that I really struggle with. I don't mean that I am bad at it, I mean that it is something that makes me have the worst anxiety imaginable. I get so scared about the cars around me , it makes me feel physically sick and then I end up cancelling lessons and quitting! It annoys me so much as I know it is something that I want to do so badly but I really need to get over my fear! Again this is definitely something that I will have to reward myself for as this is the thing I know I will struggle with the most!!

One of the most exciting things on my list to do before I'm 22 is to travel Australia! My boyfriend and I have decided to give up our tenancy on our house so that we can save up to go to Australia in December! We are planning to go for around 3 months and see as much as we possibly can! Depending on if we have any money left we are hoping to also go to Bali, New  Zealand and maybe even Thailand if we're really lucky with saving! Traveling is something that I absolutely love doing and we have a few more places on our list for the future!

Due to going to Australia this does mean that I will have to quit my current job so unfortunately one of the less exciting things I have had to add to my list is to get a new job when we are back from our trip! In total honesty, I have absolutely no idea what I want or plan on doing so with this one I will have to wait until closer to the time!

I will make sure to keep my blog updated on my progress and would love to hear if any of you have any goals set!

Your Skin Doesn't Define You

"Our skin is our skin and it doesn't define who we are"- Zoella.

Zoella's videos are something that I tend to watch as much as I can. I absolutely loved her daily vlogs but there is one in particular that has really helped me over the past few months and continues to do so every time I am having a bad day and feel low about the way I look.

 Watch Zoella's vlog here.

Bad skin is something that I have struggled with for a long time. I constantly have break outs that really affect me and the way I feel about myself. Some mornings whilst I am putting on my makeup, the only thing I can think of, is how ashamed I am of my skin, and how the last thing I want to do is leave the house for anyone to see me. However, this video has helped me so much on days like that. This video is an amazing reminder that I am not the only person who feels this way, and that having spots, does not define who I am.

Although I am still not completely comfortable with my skin, I am gradually getting there. Whenever I have a bad day, I turn to Zoe's video to pick me up again and remind me that it is perfectly normal.

If any of you are struggling with issues of your own, whether it be spots, or freckles, or birth marks, I really do advise you to give this vlog a watch. It really does help.

Going to Paris & London!

Paris is a place that I had always wanted to go. Chris and I had booked to go there in December, from the 3rd, then travel to London on the 5th then return to Newcastle on the 7th. I was so excited about the whole trip and boy it was just as amazing as I expected it to be! Paris is one of those places that you don't understand just how magical it is, until you experience it yourself. From Notre Dame, to The Louvre, to The Eiffel Tower. It was all so fascinating and for me it was so emotional (I do cry at most things to be fair).

Whilst we were in Notre Dame, we visited The Love Lock Bridge and it really is an unbelievable place. I didn't realise just how many locks were there until I saw them. It sounds crazy but when I was standing on the bridge with Chris, I got so overwhelmed by the thought of just how many people had been standing there, in the same situation as us, feeling so in love. It is amazing and I recommend anyone to visit so they can experience it for themselves.

We then went to The Louvre which was so big! It took us hours to walk around and we didn't even get to see half of it. The one thing that we did make sure to see, was The Mona Lisa, which was crazy to think that we were standing next to the most famous painting in the world. When we left, we were trying to figure out the best way to get to The Eiffel Tower as we had no idea where it was. We were in mid conversation when we saw the whole thing just light up and sparkle in the distance! Wow, was it beautiful! Since we had seen it, we thought we might as well walk to it as it didn't seem THAT far away! (we were so wrong)

We started walking and ended up finding a ferris wheel which was all lit up and looked so pretty when it got dark. Once we passed that we stumbled across the most amazing Christmas Market I've ever seen!
It really was so magical, and for a person who loves Christmas as much as I do I was so so happy the whole time we were there!

When we finally got to The Eiffel Tower it was so exciting! It was beautiful and it was much bigger than I had expected. We went all the way to the top and the view was unbelievable. It was so amazing to see Paris from that height when it was all lit up. It was breathtaking..

After a perfect day in Paris, we went for a nice meal in a small restaurant near our hotel and then called it a night. The next day we explored the area a little bit more before heading to the airport to travel to London. One of my favourite places!

We didn't take many photos in London as we spent most of our time shopping and it was soo crazy with it being so close to Christmas. On both nights we spent there, we went to one of the nicest restaurants I've been to in ages. It is an independent restaurant in South Kensington tube station called Bill's and if anyone lives near there or is anywhere near visiting, I really recommend you give it a go!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post about my lovely little trip :-)

Hey guys! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year! I'm so sorry for my lack of posts, I've been super busy with some exciting things and I've only just got access to the internet!

So as you can probably guess from the name of the post, I have finally moved out of my family home into an apartment with my boyfriend, Chris!

After about a year of looking and constantly buying little bits and pieces for when the time eventually came, we finally found somewhere which we both love and that is not too far away from my family.

We moved at the very end of November and it's still nowhere near finished. We have all the basics and have started adding loads of little things to make it more homely and I really do love it!

Anyone who knows me will understand how exciting this is as I absolutely adore home decor and the idea of being able to do up my own little place is amazing.

Since we moved so close to Christmas, it meant that we could put up our decorations pretty much straight away, which was so exciting, because I absolutely LOVE Christmas and I am so so sad that it is all over and we've had to take down all of the decorations!

Since it's now January, I won't show you all of my Christmas decorations, but I will add a photo of my Christmas tree as I thought it was so pretty!

I hope everyone is having a great day :-)

I have to admit that I have not always been a one for bath products, however within the past year I have found my inner lush lover. I was always very cautious as to what I used on my skin as it is super sensitive. I never used any kind of bath bombs or bubble baths and stuck to very boring body washes that I knew where OK for my skin. I had never thought about trying any of the products from lush (No matter how nice it smelt as I walked past!) as I assumed that it would cause a reaction, however last Christmas, one of my friends bought me a lush set. I didn't use anything from it straight away as I was still feeling a bit unsure, but I was bored of always using the same body washes that weren't very exciting so I thought I would give one of the bath bombs a try and boy am I glad that I did! The first one I tried was the 'Luxury Lush Pud' and it was so amazing! Not only did it look and smell amazing, it left my skin feeling so soft and didn't irritate it in the slightest!

After I tried this one, I used the rest of my set so quickly and ended up buying more pretty soon after. Now that it is October and Lush have brought out their Christmas collection, I thought that I would go and buy a few things that I fell in love with last year and also try some of the new things.

 Northern Lights
This is the purple bath bomb which looks so gorgeous when in the bath as it also has blue and neon green inside, along with some stars, which I love! This one has the scent of jasmine and ylang ylang.

This is the yellow bath bomb which I haven't tried yet but am super excited for! It is filled with glitter and has a rose jam scent which reminds me of turkish delight!

Father Christmas
I think it is quite obvious which bath bomb this is! This one is super festive as it turns your bath from red to green and smells like 'Snow Fairy'! I have to say this is definitely one of my favorites as I adore the smell and I actually bought 2!

Golden Wonder
This is the gold bath bomb shaped as a present. I think this is the most beautiful bath bomb once placed in your bath. It starts off gold and then turns a gorgeous shade of blue. It also has little stars which look so pretty in the water. It has a lovely refreshing citrus scent that is still quite sweet. I would definitely recommend this one if you want something that is nice to look at.

So White
This is the plain white bath bomb (I'm sure you guessed that) and has an apple scent which I think is so cute as it goes with the name perfectly! I haven't tried this one yet so I'm not sure what it looks like in water but I do know that it has a red centre which will add a pop of colour to your bath and will totally match the scent!

Candy Mountain
This is the pink pyramid (mountain) shaped product which is a little bit different to the others as it is a bubble bar rather than a bath bomb. This means that you can use it more than once as you just crumble a bit off and run it under the tap. I think that this product smells a lot like the 'Father Christmas' bath bomb so I like to use them together as I love adding bubbles to the water which is something that the bath bombs don't do.

This is the blue bath bomb and another that I am yet to try but am looking forward to! I originally bought this one as I thought it had a lovely smell and would make the water a nice purple colour, but when I looked at the product information online I wanted to try it even more and was so glad that I had picked it up. Firstly I saw a lot of reviews saying how much they loved the 'surprise in the middle' which I am so excited to see what it is. Secondly I really like that one of the ingredients 'Bergamot' is supposed to help with anxiety, depression and nervous tension which is something that I feel I would benefit from.

All of the products that I have tried have always left my skin feeling so soft and have never irritated it which is something that is very important to me when choosing bath products. If you have sensitive skin but want to try something a bit different, I would definitely recommend lush products as they are all made from natural ingredients.
If you have a favourite lush product or any that you recommend, please comment below and let me know. Thanks so much for reading my blog post and I will speak to you soon.
